OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS:
The Hotel Mac www.hotelmac.net 510-235-0010
Charming historic hotel & restaurant - closest & best overnight accommodations to The Nova Studio (just a few minutes walking). The recommended place to stay if you are coming to take classes and staying overnight. Irene, the woman in charge of the Hotel, is extremely pleasant to deal with and loves meeting students who come from all over the world to take classes at The Nova Studio. Mention that you're taking a class at The Nova Studio for $15 off the room rate per night!
The Annex Online Listing 510-235-0081
Finally, another recommended place to stay near the studio! I personally know the Proprietor Linda Newton. She and her husband rent out a cottage that is just minutes away from the studio (walking). The address is: 212 Washington Avenue, Point Richmond, CA 94801 You can contact her at: annex.ptrichmond@gmail.com. It's about the same distance away as the Hotel Mac. It's only one unit, so the availability may be limited, but it's definitely worth the call to see if it's available!
RESTAURANTS & CAFES: Point Richmond has an excellent range of locally-owned restaurants, all within 5 minutes walking distance from the studio, and there's something for everyone! There are also two small food markets within one block of the studio. You can see all the local restaurants & their hours here (hours subject to change). Some of our recommended places include Kao Sarn Thai (Lori's favorite), Little Louie's, a great sandwich cafe across from The Hotel Mac, & the Hidden City Cafe which serves rustic Californian-style food. (Fun Fact: This cafe is featured in several Pixar animated films, since Pixar used to be in Point Richmond.)
Point Richmond's Official Website www.pointrichmond.com
The official website for Point Richmond, a quaint historic neighborhood in the city of Richmond, CA. A great resource for all things Point Richmond. Check it out!
