Aromatherapy & PMC Collide - Learn to Make a Perfume Amphora!

Amphoras were clay vessels used by ancient Greeks and Romans to store and transport liquids. In our updated version, we'll make ours out of precious silver clay! This miniature amphora can be used to store your favorite perfume, and can either be worn as a necklace or as a lovely accent piece for your dresser.

In this unique full-day class, students will learn to make a perfume amphora by covering a substructure with precious metal clay (also known as PMC). We'll customize the shape of the amphora and also make handles, neck and stopper. You'll learn to assemble the amphora in the bone dry stage, fire it in the kiln and then apply patina to finish the piece.

The materials fee (paid on the day of class, directly to the teacher) includes your PMC, handouts and other materials/tools for in-class use. You will leave with a completed one-of-a-kind perfume amphora (designed and made by you!) and a sample of Lori Nova's custom perfume to fill it. Bring a necklace to wear your amphora home.

NOTE:
Students will have the option of purchasing additional supplies from the teacher on the day of class. For example, you may wish to purchase a chain to put your pendant on, additional stones to embellish your creations, or more PMC to work with at home. The teacher will accept cash, CA checks or credit cards.
