Have you ever wanted to make your own custom silver jewelry?
Now is your chance (and it’s easier than you think)!

In this day long session you'll learn to make your own beautiful and unique jewelry with PMC (Precious Metal Clay). PMC is real silver suspended in a clay-like medium. It’s non-toxic and requires very little training or special equipment.

In the morning the instructor will guide you through one of 3 projects that emphasize how to work with the clay and utilize proper construction techniques. In the afternoon you'll have the choice of designing you own project or choosing one of the other projects to design. You'll also learn about stone setting and how to use liver of sulfur to create a beautiful patina on your piece. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of working with PMC: layering and adding textures, proper construction techniques, stone setting, torch firing (affordable method that you can do at home) and finishing techniques. This class is perfect for both beginners and advanced beginners.

The materials fee (paid in class directly to the teacher) covers your PMC+ and in-class use of all the necessary tools - everything needed to create your one of a kind jewelry. You'll leave with completed pieces of silver jewelry designed by YOU, handouts & resources, and the skills necessary to make fine silver jewelry, from start to finish, in your very own home.

NOTE:
Students will have the option of purchasing additional supplies from the teacher on the day of class. For example, you may wish to purchase a chain to put your pendant on, additional stones to embellish your creations, or more PMC+ to work with at home. The teacher will accept cash, CA checks or credit cards.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Patrik Kusek is a Senior Instructor for Rio Grande's Rio Rewards certification program and travels the country teaching PMC certification workshop. He is a seasoned PMC artist and member of the PMC Guild. He sells commissioned pieces of jewelry to individuals and also at various galleries. He is a graduate of FIDM (The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) Merchandise Marketing Program and a graduate of the Academy of Art University. Patrik's work has been published in Art Jewelry Magazine, Jewelry Artist, 500 Pendants and Lockets, New Directions in Metal Clay and various other publications.
